Track Name: Passenger [Acoustic]
I've been lying down. Let's be honest, I am closer than ever now. To a good night's sleep. It's been so long since I've even heard you speak. I've been lying down.
Moving on is not all that easy. I've been working on myself. How I can react when things don't go exactly how I plan.
Like a carpenter's hands I started out weak. More and more I worked with them. I'm stronger than you might think.
I won't let this control my actions, change who I am inside. I still mess up, but I have learned, the more you understand yourself the more you get through it.
On the passenger's side of the floor of my car I keep the letter you wrote. Your indirect approach to asking for more. You know I know you by now.
Track Name: Hesitation (Whirlwind) [Acoustic]
It was wet enough you could write your name, and you had the thought you would get away with it even though you know you haven't had the best of luck in that department. I don't know a single person who could keep their composure. I want to see the path you walked into a whirlwind so encompassing it's a more fitting name than what's written in that concrete.
You are and I wish I had known what you are capable of. Can't stay on all of the thoughts, a line I'm hesitant to draw.
I don't want this anymore.
I know I have an awful temper, but when you said what you had done I was afraid of that idea.
Track Name: Is It Too Late? [Acoustic]
You're fast asleep lying next to me. You're trouble lately. When things are bad all you really need is some company. A fallen vase, you are scattered, but isn't everyone. When things get bad you redirect it in the wrong direction.
I said it on the way back. I'm scared it's too late. Like my father tells me, it is best to take better care of ourselves. We spend so much time on the ones around us we lose ourselves.
Track Name: Losing [Acoustic]
What does it mean to lose? I could say I've really struggled, but that wouldn't be the truth. I'm ripened fruit from tended soil. You were raised the same. It's hard to read that situation. You have turned your direction and it kills us all the way you've been.
When Angela calls late at night. My stomach drops every time.
Moved it from the floorboard. It's worth getting over.
Track Name: Ingrained [Acoustic]
That kind of news heard for the first time. I noticed Judith's trembling hands and watery eyes. This has been hard. I knew from the start, I would give up on you before you mend your heart.
Well I'm on to talk, but I mean it all and I apologize, but you don't know how to stop.
The home that we grew up in, as far as I can tell, has been taken for granted.
You told me your skin crawls and I don't know how to respond. I don't trust when you tell me that impulse is gone. You said I don't love you the way you feel that I should. Sometimes that's why I don't respond to you.
Have to find a way to move on from my biggest fear. I don't want to end up attending a funeral. I don't know how to think of our mom and dad, the constant reminders of the only real thing I've been heartbroken about.
Track Name: Pattern [Acoustic]
In the kitchen I broke down for the first time in front of grandmother. I washed my face in the bathroom sink to hide it from the others there. You are a rope I have watched burn I hoped wouldn't get shorter.
The last time we really talked I'm sure I pulled you right back in. We are similar enough I thought it too not long before then. I told you what helped me was a change of scenery.
You moved to New Mexico.
After Joel told me the news he asked me for half for your ticket back. In Mt Vernon I watched the bus arrive and found you asleep inside. I paused for a second there and thought of the couch they pulled out of Chuck's house after the ambulance came and took him away. It sat in the alley and read "man died here."
