If I'm being honest I know I'm not the same
I haven't been in the calmest state of mind these days
Like the streets I sometimes pass when I don't pay attention
I could fade into the back if I don't let my heart win
Have I slowed down?
Lately I have wondered why
When I'm around
I'm looking for the exit signs and the right time
If I have been calloused I should tell you it's because
I haven't put in the effort mostly due to my self doubt
Every time that I say when I feel like I shouldn't
Could be what has held me down and why my reach is limited
Know what I need but I don't have the energy
My heart's grown tired
I'm caught up in the safe and the mundane
And I need to change
